Meets every Friday evening during daylight savings time, starting at 5:30pm from the southeast parking lot of Fossil Ridge High School (5400 Ziegler Road), and following a regular route east of I-25. The ride will be 90-120 minutes depending on how fast we're going. The pace should be 15-17mph.
The goal is to ride as a group in a paceline, and the group leader will make every effort to ensure that riders are not dropped. Every rider should carry the materials required to repair a flat, though the group leader will assist the inexperienced if required.
In case of cold or wet weather, we may take a shorter route or bail. Ride generally goes if 40F or above, and roads are clear.
These are recreational rides of about 30 - 50 miles. The pace is about 12-17 mph with no drops (meaning no one is left by themselves). Faster riders may add loops. Or we may make them do intervals. We are a friendly group, and we get together at a common lunch/brunch destination to "talk bikes" and solve the problems of the world. The May 3 R3 Ride will be lead by David Foos, who tentatively plans on going up past Horsetooth, through Masonville and Loveland, but this route is tentative. We will probably make a final decision on the route based on the desires of the group. Due to the forecast temperatures we will start the ride at 10:00 AM and hold off onthe 8:00 AM start till the weather warms up.
