Club riders from Colorado Wheeltime IT are hosting their 2nd century ride Sunday, September 13, 2009, as a benefit for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Last year we had sponsorship from Lee's Cyclery, the new Loveland Trek store, the Fort Collins Brewery, FedEx Office, Sunflower Markets, Enchanted Threads Embroidery & Design, thegorillaathlete. com, & Gib's Bagels. Hoping to have many of those return this year.
One hundred mile and 50-mile loops, and a 25-mile out & back route are the options, with the century ride going to Windsor, Wellington, Owl Canyon Road, Bellvue, the Dams, and back to Windsor. This is a fully supported ride with 3 SAG vehicles, water stations, and bike techs at check-in. BBQ from 2007 state champions Throw Me a Bone and beer from FC Brewery will be served at the after-party. Entry is a minimum donation of $10 and the event is limited to just 40 riders to ensure a safe, quality experience. To register go to Ride Registration. For more info email vitalengine@yahoo.com.

I'm going to cycle the 50-mile route on Saturday if anyone wants to join me. This just happens to coincide with the weekly long ride length on our 6-week training plan. Pace will be between 14-16mph, flat century pace for an average recreational rider, as I'll be checking road conditions as we go. But you're welcome to do some sprints or sections of tempo riding solo. There will be a couple of regroup points. This is not a club ride, and you will be expected to have everything necessary -- tubes, food, fluids -- to finish in good shape if we get separated.
Forecast is mostly sunny with highs in the mid-80s, ideal for this time of year. Meet in the Telvent south parking lot (4701 Royal Vista Circle, Fort Collins 80528) at 7:30 a.m. see the route at:
